Watchtower and Castle

At the northern edge of Košice on Hradová hill (castle hill), a 21-m high watchtower has jutted out above the city since 1986. Once you overcome the 99 steps, you will be rewarded with a truly inspiring panorama of the whole of Košice. The remains of the Medieval castle in the locality of Hradová at the Watchtower and the surrounding forest park are ideal places for a picnic and a barbeque. In the surrounding area there are even specially designated sites for making fires.

Where you find us and how to get there:
Above the town on Hradová hill, in the direction of Kavečany
Bus no. 29 from the city centre (railway and bus station) in the direction of the Zoo, get off at the stop called Vyhliadková veža (Watchtower) and continue on the path

May - June - Tuesday - Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00
July - September - Tuesday - Friday from 10.00 to 18.00
October - Saturday, Sunday from 10.00 to 16.00
